Jumping into Fall goodness, the summer flew by and here we are at fall already!  Not that I haven't been busy...we were lots busy...but now that we are back to routine, here I am blogging, again.  I only have a few challenges to enter...not that I haven't been making lotsa cards...I am just too busy to check all the challenges right now.  So, I made some cards for the upcoming weekend's wedding...and then found the challenges that matched the card! The Mitton clan is all arriving for the wedding (congrats to Jason and Anita!!) so I put together this card for them.  Not that we are Irish -- I just loved the image and the sentiment that went along with it...and thought it appropriate for a there you go!  I'm entering it in "anything goes" for and

The weekend also gives us a chance to celebrate the birth of a new grand whipped up this card for his mommy and daddy!  It follows the colour challenge at

I've also been playing with my new camera!! After the very sad demise of my last canon (yup...Steve let it fall off the roof of the car)...I was pleased as punch to purchase my new canon 2ti...and snapped lots of pics with the new lens!!! Here's some of my favourites...may need my buddy Reuben to critique for me....

Here's to jumping into fall!!!

The End of June....

It's now getting to be the end of June, and that means that a bunch of things are ending off for the summer...including my scrapbook class.  I volunteered to make 65 (yes...65!) cards for the ladies to use as that has taken up a bunch of my time.  But I was encouraged myself by all the comments on how nice they were, even though at that volume I had to "go simple".

Lots of card challenges are out for the men right now so I did some father's day stuff.  My little guy has a birthday this month too...but I doubt he'll get a card...somehow I just don't think he would appreciate it!
Here are some of the dad cards I made for the special dads in my life!!
My dad is the fisherman in the family...and my two sons have "caught" the bug too...I think it is great that they can do that as a special thing with poppa...I love Melonheads illustrations...and I used my fishy punch too.  It qualifies for "punch something" at and "blue and black" at
My father-in-law has the cleanest car ever...and has taught all the kids the "correct" way to wash the had to use this vintage image for him! Let's try our luck at for "dad".

The final "dad" in the family is my hubby...whom I luv to bits.  Here is the card I made for him:
Which I hope does well at  for "dad".

A good friend celebrated her birhtday this week and I made her this one with lotsa "bling" sooo fits her personality!! HEEHE.  I "added some sparkle" so I'm entering . is out in about two weeks...which means I must thank all the fabulous teachers who endure my kids (and 30 extra odd kids) every day!  I recycled this container and made a really cute pencil holder...and the clip....they turned out great!  I am so excited (not that the kids are home all summer...that the crafts worked!) But I missed the challenge for that one.  Next time...

<Sigh>  The end of June ... summer ...will I have more or less time to play?  Yet to be determined.

Letting my Wings Soar...

I just got back from a FABULOUS weekend away scrapbooking with a great group of ladies in the beautiful Muskoka area.  I was quite diligent and completed 48 pages and a few cards!  As I was working away at my kids' baby books...I was reflecting on how blessed I was with a great family.  I might be bragging, but my kids are pretty cute...and pretty smart! Lots of certificates and awards in those books!  A proud momma I am!  Speaking of mothers....don't forget that mother's day is coming up!  Here is the card  I created for the occation to celebrate !!! It qualifies for some challenges:
One of the ladies I scrapped with this weekend is a Red Hatter...and she inspires me to try wild things sometimes!  I've had this birdie coloured for a while but put him on this bright and happy card with a feather...just 'cuz that is wild and crazy!! A feather is not something I usually use, but I am learning to try new things...and be inspired by the Holy Spirit within me to be bold in my faith ...and I think that might be being reflected in my cards...(or maybe it was the last card I made on a wacky weekend with very little sleep!)
It gets to enter at for "anything goes", for "circles" (I used a new embossing folder on the weekend!) and it might be pushing it a bit but at for using something not intended for crafting....I hope my feather did fall of a boa in the kids' dress up box!! And I have never used one in crafting!!

This past Easter weekend was a special weekend for our nephew Jason...HE GOT ENGAGED!! We are all so excited...and the royal wedding thing happened I just had to celebrate the "love birds" with this cute card!!!  Another addition to our great family, qualifies for "weddings" at and the colours pink/blue/brown at (which is quickly becoming one of my favourite challenge blogs....)These birdies are so cute...and the colouring turned out's a close-up...just so I can brag!
I just discovered that all my cards have birds on them!! How weird is that...Whoo hoo...that means I can enter for "something with wings" three times over!
It was a nice weekend...a chance to reflect, and let my "wings soar" a bit and be challenged to see how God is going to use me in the future!

Keep Working Hard!

It's been a long time since I posted, but life has been taking over.  Alex got to play in the worship band for the first time...and was sooo nervous!  But he practiced and practiced and did GREAT! We are so proud. We told him that he'd be okay if he just tried hard!

Baby Madi, Anastasia's little friend, is turning one and trying very hard to walk.  I made her this card for her birthday.  It was supposed to be for a challenge using "Amy" the digital stamp...but I missed the deadline.  She turned out wonderfully, so I am using her for some other challenges:
"flowers" for and
"do it yourself" for
and "for using a stamp" at
This one was another Dustin Pike Image (he's so cool) that I used to complete some Easter cards with.  I actually threw them together at our big National Scrapbook Day event this past we were working hard helping others complete their own projects.  This was my second attempt using this stamp...and I like it better.  He qualifies for "Easter" at the following: and
This pretty little lady put me in the Christmas mood....and was fun to work outside of the box, and create a Christmas card without traditional Christmas colours.  She also has lots of bling and sparkles, although the pic doesn't show them all.  Still working on getting my pictures perfect! A new blog challenge for me is at for "glitter" and for the colour combinations at and

This one was another challenge for me, as I HATE to measure...and fancy folds require measuring.  But after a little adjustment, it turned out pretty good.  Fancy fold challenges are at and  It also qualifies for a birthday at and embossing at (thanks, Kim for the embossing folder on this one! and yes, it's one of your stamps too!).

Wow...I have been working hard.  This last one was an image from Melijens that I have wanted to use for a while, but it qualifies for "April showers" and "water" at and
WHEW!  I really have been working hard, lately!  Maybe I should just take a break...oh, but wait!  I just won "blog candy" from Chelsea's blog candy!! Woooowhooo! A first win for me!! (see the sidebar for her link!) so will be getting a whole new set of goodies to play with....I guess I will just have to keep on working hard!

What a Great Weekend

We had a nice weekend!  It rained all weekend, which made it nice for sleeping in and after a few errands in the am, I got to hang out and craft most of the afternoon away.  No inspiration from the lizards...although I did do a "green" card ... which is quite layered and whimsical.  I like it.  I still haven't mastered how to get great photos of my cards.  If you have any suggestions...PLEASE leave me a comment!! It qualifies for "green" at and for using a digi stamp at (fairies are my favourite!!) and for "lucky duck"...all about best wishes (did you see the wish stamp in the flowers?) I stuck it there cuz it didn't seem right down at the bottom where I originally was going to put it.
This photo with the flash on shows the true "green"....ya think a good scrapper would know how to photograph paper...

The next card was fun to make but a real challenge to be happy with .... I just couldn't decide what else to add to give it that "woosh" I left it alone.  It's a traditional stampin' up stamp, but I couldn't decide whether to do it horizontal or vertical.  Lots of black and white challenges out there, so this card qualifies for the following: and for black and white and because it is kinda vintage (I think so!) and that ribbon makes it qualify for  It's also for a birthday, so it can go into  Here it is:
On Sunday we went to a birthday party for a set of I made a fun card using one of my favourite traditional stamps -- a cute little house mouse!  The colouring took forever, but I really like this one...too bad I had to give it away!! It just happens to qualify for a few challenges too! and for "animal themes" and for another birthday! and just because I like it soo much, it gets to go in "anything goes" at  HOW Cute is this????
Again...I can't decide how to take the best pics...flash on, flash off?  The ribbon was fun for this one too...although kinda hard to keep stuck in place. *Sigh* it really was a great weekend.

It's a cold day here in Toronto, and I am getting tired of winter...lucky a lot of challenges called for flowers this time around so I made this very "spring" card using an image from Seliekjestim...which is very cute.  Must say -- we share the same fondness for kitties.  My new copics are being shipped in from Florida (see copic Marker scrapbooking who have become my new best friends!) Florida.  Also warm.

We increased our household by two more this week..."frankie" and "speedy" the two lizards are happy soaking up the heat lamp .... hmmnn wonder if I could climb into that tank and pretend I am somewhere tropical.  Maybe the lizards will inspire me....
Which qualifies for the following:
and a big challenge for me was using a frame for (how are you supposed to get those metal things to "stick"?)

Stay warm everyone!

Picking up speed...

Wow...time is flying!! I ordered some new copics from a FABULOUS company called Copic marker scrapbooking and they are super duper with cusomer service!  I am going to add them to my postings on the sidebar.  I played a bit this weekend, but it was a little busy around our house, so really didn't accomplish much.  But did manage to send this card off to my dear sister-in-law who is working hard to take care of her mom right now.  I hope she appreciates the "pick up".   If the pace at our house slows down a bit, and none of the new lizards escape (more on that later!), then I might get more cards done....but for now, here's my card for the following challlenges: for "friendship" "using scraps" which I almost always do, but used all of my deep red and actually had to piece a few together for this background!  And all the little hearts and flowers were scraps too! for their sketch ...which I am trying more... and finally for using a sentiment...a good one don't you think?
Have a good March everyone!
